Hi Everyone! I have a special treat for you today! I have created a video to show you how to save money this year by creating gift boxes and table decor using toilet paper rolls! They are easy and fun to make!
I enjoy entertaining during the holidays and love creating fun table decor items. It is so much fun bringing out the colors of my napkins with napkin rings and table favors with little gifts, but they can become very costly. I also find that every year at Christmas I have small little gifts or gift cards that are difficult to wrap. I then have to scurry around to try to find special boxes or bags which also can be costly and time consuming. This year I decided to plan ahead so that I could save both time and money. These lovely table favors and gift boxes were made from toilet paper rolls and cereal boxes. I thought it would be fun to show you how to create these lovely items so I created a video just for you! At the end of the video I show a variety of other colors that you might like instead of the traditional red and green.
I have listed the supplies below with the basic instruction since I made the video. While I created mine with spray ink and embossing powders, please use what you have in your craft closet. If you have paints they will work just fine and you can use glue with glitter rather than embossing powder. The whole idea is to have fun creating these while saving money.
Colorbox Spritzers® – Fireberry (red) & Golf Course (green)
Colorbox Top Boss® Water Mark pad
Colorbox Embossing Powder- Gold Sparkle
Colorbox Glitter- Fools Gold
Stampendous®- Cutting dies, Poinsettia and snowflakes
Craft board (cereal boxes)
Paint brushes of choice
Toilet Paper Rolls
1. Spray the toilet paper roll with Spritzer colors of choice and allow to dry.
2. Cut poinsettia and snowflakes from craft board.
3. Apply Watermark to the poinsettia stamp and place the cut out onto the stamp. Apply gold embossing poser and heat set. Apply watermark to snowflakes, cover with embossing powder, shake excess off and heat set.
4. Apply embellishments to roll with glue and then add the cut outs.
5. Fold in sides of the roll to create the box.
